The Matchbox Art Show
Me and 50 other artists are taking part in The Matchbox Art Show in Hove this weekend and the weekend after. If your around the Brighton area you should check it out. I thought creating something small enough fit in a matchbox would be really easy but making something that small is surprisingly hard! My artwork was inspired by this photo of Mabel Stark and one of her tigers.

Hello!Lucky Give Away!
As I told you last week I've designed some holiday cards for Hello!Lucky. You can get them from their website and they have a really great customisation tool where you can add you own photos to the back and even change the font used for the greeting. Also there'll soon be a limited edition letter pressed card available. Very exchiting! To celebrate this and to spread some holiday love we're doing a give away together! The price is a $100 gift certificate to spend in the Hello!Lucky shop. For your chance to win just comment on this blog post!
The winner will be announced on my blog on the 12th of November. Good luck!

Kafka and the Fishes
When I read Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer a while ago I found a quote I really liked. It was by Franz Kafka and it's something he said when visiting the Berlin aquarium after becoming a vegetarian. I decided to use it for an illustration.
The font I used was made by Matt Lyon.

The Raincoats
Amelia Gregory did an interview with the Raincoats about the upcoming re-relese of their album Odyshape and I was lucky enough to get to make one of the illustrations for the blog. I'm a big fan of the them so I was very excited to get the opportunity.
It was a really quick, fun project to make, I got the brief on Wednesday evening and sent the final artwork in on Friday morning. It also gave me a chance to practice drawing humans which I don't usually do.
The interview is great and you can read it over at Amelia's Magazine.

Better late than never...
Me and my sausage dog where sharing our illustration secrets in the July issue of Digital Arts. So did a lot of other very talented illustrators. My biggest secret though is that my fringe has been photoshopped in that photo. You can read the whole article online here. Big thanks to Lisa Hassell of Inkygoodness for including me in the feature!
In more recent news my work was featured on the Howkapow blog the other day!
If you like nice things (who doesn't?) you should vistit the Howkapow online shop, it's filled with amazing things, I want them all! www.howkapow.com

To the North Pole
This is what my final project ended up looking like. It's the story of two sisters journey to the North Pole told through a set of dioramas. You can see some close-up on my website. If you'd like to see them in person you should come down to The OVO show, www.ovoshow.co.uk, at the Red Gallery in Shoreditch between the 7th and the 12th July.

Mönsterjakten!
This is my contribution for the competition Mönsterjakten run by the Swedish magazine Nöjesguiden and the DesignTorget. The winning design will be made into a mug and sold in DesignTorget stores all over Sweden. My pattern is based on the fact that the German Shepard has been the most popular dog in Sweden since 1966, but in 2010 it was all of a sudden beaten in popularity by the Labrador Retriever. Another interesting fact is that Swedes seem to have pretty boring taste in dogs (sorry all German Shepard and Labrador lovers!).

NEW YORK
Me and my boyfriend went to New York for a week (we came home on wednesday but I've been to tired and jet lagged to write about it). We had a great time; saw all the tourist attractions, went to loads of museums, ate some great vegetarian/vegan food and had some good beer, what more can you ask for?

The Passion of New Eve
Here's a book cover I made awhile back for a book illustration brief at uni. It's for The Passion of New Eve by the amazing Angela Carter. The story's completely insane and I would strongly recommend everyone to read it. Well, maybe not everyone, there's ALOT of violence so it's nothing for the faint of heart.
It's here!
My copy of The Tote Bag finally arrived! It's the first time my work has been published in a book so needless to say I'm pretty excited.
The book itseld is beautiful and filled with loads of great tote bag designs. It's written by Jitesh Patel and published by Laurence King, you can read more about it here: http://www.jiteshpatel.co.uk/totebagbook/.

Oh Nena!
I've made this desktop wallpaper for Oh Nena, it can be downloaded from their blog. There must have been some misunderstanding along the way because contrary to what they wrote it's suppose to be a human not a "cute pale animal" (cute animals are my favourite thing though). It just shows how differently people can see the same image. I like that they wrote that my work is scary, I take that as a compliment!
Editorial Brief p.2
This is my second image for the editorial brief. It is for an article called "50 steps to find a new career".

Vote for me on Teelocker (please)!
I designed this accordion playing badger a few years ago to be used on a T-shirt for Tricolore, but in the end they decided to go with one of my other designs instead (Bird girl t-shirt). I really like the design and I still think it would make a great T-shirt. So I've submitted it to Teelocker! It would greatly appreciated if you would go to their website and vote for it! 5's please! www.teelocker.com

Laser Cats!
The left-overs from todays laser-cutting adventures. I think it kind of looks like a work of art in itself, at least to a cat lover like me!
